Why you can’t get sleep when you need sleep the most and here’s how to get it!

State Problem: You’ve probably experienced being led there in bed with the thought ‘I need sleep’ pounding through your mind!

The really frustrating thing is that the more you think lye there thinking ‘I need sleep’ the

more difficult it is to get it!

In fact I’m going to suggest that your mind being fixated on the idea that you need sleep is the very reason you cannot sleep!

You see sleep is the process of allowing our minds to drift off for the night so that we can be healed, rejuvenated, and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start the day.

However though like ‘I need sleep’ or ‘why can’t I get to sleep’ keep our mind active and prevent it from switching off!

I remember one particular time when I was led in bed and for some reason couldn’t switch off. I rolled over and looked at my alarm clock which read 4am. Immediately mind starting spinning…

“Oh my goodness, its 4am, I’ve led here all night and I’ve got to get up in 2 hours! I need sleep or I’ll be tired all day tomorrow”.

This makes things much worse!

You have to banish thoughts of ‘I need sleep’ and take control of your mind!

This is the first step in getting regular great nights of sleep!

You have to take control of your mind and learn to allow yourself to mentally switch off.

If you don’t do this you will have endless nights of not being able to get to sleep. And even if you do eventually get to sleep you’re likely to wake back up with your mind buzzing away in the middle of the night.

Now this is really important. It’s not as simple as just not being able to sleep. It also affects every other area of your life.

You’ll start to notice that you feel really tired all the time. Your head will start to feel muzzy headed and distant. You’ll struggle to focus and paying attention can become very difficult.

This all adds up and eventually you’ll find that you’ll become far less sociable and things at work can start to slip too. Also hobbies and your personal goals will be put on the back burner and won’t get done.

Now I know that for many people they find taking control of their minds a real struggle. They feel overwhelmed, intimidated, and just not really sure how to do it!
